Half and Full Marathons

Amicalola Falls State Park hosts both the Full and Half Marathon routes, offering miles of scenic trails suited to all fitness levels. Runners travel through lush forests, alongside creeks, and past breathtaking views of the 729-foot Amicalola Falls—the tallest cascading waterfall in Georgia. The full marathon consists of two 13.1-mile loops, each including the famous 605 steps of the Appalachian Approach Trail. With a well-marked course and a mix of singletrack and gravel paths, this race delivers both challenge and beauty in one unforgettable mountain experience.

DETAILS

The course features 3,200 feet of elevation gain/loss for the Half Marathon and 6,400 feet for the Full. The race starts at the top of the falls, descends the East Ridge Trail, connects to Mountain Laurel Trail, then climbs the 605 steps back to the top. Runners continue on the Len Foote Trail to the Hike Inn, then return via the Appalachian Approach Trail.

Each runner must print and sign this waiver and bring it to the check-in.


Refund Policy: We understand things happen. No refunds will be issued. However, you may transfer your entry to another racer in the same event without a penalty until 7 days before the event. You are responsible for finding a person interested in buying your entry as well as working out payment with them. Entries do not transfer to other events nor do they transfer year to year. If you would like to sell or transfer your entry to another racer, you may do so from within your UltraSignup account: How to edit your race registration.
