12-Hour Adventure Race
Roanoke, Virginia
Set in Roanoke’s Blue Ridge Mountains, this adventure race challenges teams with a multi-sport test of endurance, navigation, and teamwork. Using only map and compass, competitors traverse forests, ridgelines, and rivers while trail running, mountain biking, and paddling. Rather than following fixed routes, teams choose their own paths between checkpoints, balancing speed, terrain, and strategy. The course often includes areas like Carvins Cove Natural Reserve, showcasing rugged landscapes and expansive trail systems. Surrounded by remote backcountry and sweeping views, participants experience an immersive test of skill and resilience, whether racing competitively or simply striving to finish together through demanding and unpredictable conditions.
