As of July 24th, Warrior Adventure Racing is no longer running or involved with the following events. Cowboy Tough in Wyoming on August 9th and Shenandoah River (Valley of Shadows) Adventure Race in Virginia on September 6th.

 

In February, Nick Hurff approached Warrior about employment, and we explained that we were not hiring and had no budget for the salary he demanded.  Over the next weeks, Nick justified his requested compensation by arranging to bring four events from REV3 to Warrior.   Since then, Warrior has spent thousands of dollars on rebranding, setup, advertising, registration, and preparation for the events.  Nick’s job was to be Race Coordinator.

 

On July 1st, 2025, while Warrior leadership was out of town for events, Nick walked out of his contract to be Race Coordinator for Warrior Events without any notice and hired an attorney in an attempt to extract additional funds outside of his salary, which had already been paid by Warrior, notwithstanding multiple instances in which he failed to perform the very job he lobbied for. Warrior trusted Nick's word that he would successfully perform his role here at Warrior, but we were disappointingly let down.

 

For the last 20 days we have been attempting to reach some type of new agreement with Nick to continue to run the events after months of Warrior rebranding, marketing and set-up for these events, however we have failed to come to any agreement. Specifically, Nick demanded that Warrior pay him $340,000 for the events for which he had paid $35,000 to REV3 less than four months prior. Warrior has decided to cut our losses, cease promotion or operation of these events, and return control back to Nick and Rev3 Adventure to make them whatever they can. It saddens us that this has happened in our small and close Adventure Racing community and we hope that this does not cause any issues with our family of Warriors. We have been committed to bringing racers the best experience for over 15 years and will continue to work hard to keep it that way.
